Finally the long Winter is over and Spring with its promise of new life has arrived. It won't be long until we are snipping beautiful fresh flowers again from our cutting gardens.

.

February has been a month of planning for the year ahead and below is a summary of what we've been up to and a little of what March has to offer...

S E E D S O W I N G

It's been a busy month re-potting our Autumn sown seedlings, they have grown at a rapid rate and so many of them are ready to go outside - one more pot size and hopefully the weather will be warm enough for them to begin their growth in the cutting patch. Many more seeds have been sown with our first succession this year done before sowing again in the coming months. This month we've sown Strawflowers, Larkspur, Statice, herbs, grasses, Snapdragons, Scabious, Phlox and Cornflower. On the sunnier days it's felt beautifully warm in our greenhouses and poly-tunnel and we haven't wanted to leave! This week the weather is reported to be dropping in temperature, with the possibility of snow! If like us you have a some delicate little seedlings be sure to tuck them up with frost fleece from the threat of the cold weather.

It's been lovely to see the Snowdrops blooming this month, along with the beginning of the Daffodils - every year it's such a surprise how quickly they appear. This month I was lucky enough to enjoy a basket making course with Jonathon Carrie at 'Norfolk Hedge'. Jonathon guided us through making our own beautiful little shopping basket using Willow he sourced and prepared himself. Such a lovely, therapeutic and informative day that I would thoroughly recommend to anyone who loves to learn a new craft. Doggy cuddles as I created was a snugly bonus.

It's so exciting to be back to offering fresh flowers again on Mothering Sunday. During the winter months we love to create with dried flowers but we always feel so ready when Spring rolls in to get back to fresh. Our pre-orders are now open over on our website for our Mothering Sunday bouquets, with orders closing on Tuesday 14th March.

This year we are offering two beautifully seasonal bouquet options.

The first a stunning luxurious selection of the finest British grown specialty Tulips and the second a wild and fragrant bouquet, filled with elegant British grown Tulips, Narcissi and Norfolk grown foliage. Think pussy willow, blossom and branches of unfurling buds.

Thank you so much for reading & have a wonderful March.

Best wishes,

Harriet (& Emily) x
